Bane NOR has approx. 19,000 parking spaces at over 259 stations around the country. They are an important part of Bane NOR’s amenities at our stations.
Parking is available in three categories:
- Commuter parking is reserved for passengers with a valid period ticket. Payment is made via the Bane NOR Parkering app.
- One-day parking is available to passengers with a single ticket who only need to park occasionally. Payment is made via a ticket machine.
- Free parking. Free parking is available at many stations. Bane NOR does not check whether users of a free car park are train passengers.
Good parking amenities at stations are an important prerequisite for persuading most people to choose trains rather than their cars. The more that take the train, the fewer cars are on the roads. This is good for the environment and contributes to better accessibility in traffic for road users who have to drive.

Where commuter parking is provided, Bane NOR also provides several parking spaces for one-day parking at most stations.
To park on Bane NOR’s one-day car parks, there is a charge per day/night.
The day/night price is the same regardless of whether you park for 1 or 24 hours, and is shown on the ticket machine. The price at most stations is NOK 40 per day/night. Other prices apply at some stations, for example, NOK 60 per day/night at stations in Oslo. For more details, check the ticket machine and signs at the car park.
Many stations charge for one-day parking 24/7. In other words, payment is required on one-day car parks whether your car is there for 24 hours, a whole week, including weekends. At other stations, one-day parking is free after 17:00 and at weekends. Check the rules at your station.
