In the summer the Rallarvegen (translated to The Old Navvy Road) is a very popular biking-route.
Haugastøl station opened in 1908, and is the starting point for Rallarvegen, which in the summer has a lot of bicycle traffic.
During the period from July 1st to about mid-September, the station is staffed 30 minutes before train arrival for handling bicycle rental and the sale of train tickets for all trains that stop except night trains.
The station is then served by Haugastøl Turistsenter tel. (47) 32 08 75 64(opens in a new tab). The tourist center also has bicycle rental, accommodation, cafeteria, shop and kiosk.
