The Follo Line Project has released the pre-qualification documents for the Drill & Blast Tunnel EPC contract. This marks the start of a comprehensive process to find an entrepreneur to participate in the construction of the longest railway tunnel ever in Norway.

The pre-qualification is the first step in a competition that will be performed as a two-step procedure:
- Invitation to tender (ITT)
As a result of the pre-qualification a minimum of five and a maximum of seven candidates will receive an ITT. The ITT will be issued in the fall 2013.
The pre-qualification process aims to detect an entrepreneur based on a set of criteria which includes:
- Project Delivery Experience
- Technical expertise and experience

About the scope of work
The Follo Line Project is the largest transport project in Norway. The scheduled start of construction for the project is mid 2014 with completion in 2020.
The tunnel on the Follo Line, which will have a total length of 20 km., will be constructed using both conventional drill & blast technology and TBM. This pre-qualification comprises all conventional tunnels driving scope of the Follo Line Project, i.e.:
- The inbound Østfold Line
- Inner parts of the Follo Line tunnel
- A number of crossings with existing tunnels and roads
- A 3-track tunnel at the interface with the EPC contract for modification work at the Oslo Central Station.
