Concept Study Oslo Hub

The concept study for increased transport capasity to and through Oslo (Concept Study Oslo Hub) was finalized and published on November 23 2015.

Photo credits: Norconsult ASThe main task of the Concept Study Oslo Hub has been to determine which public transport service should be developed in order to manage the growth in passenger traffic in the capital region through public transport, cycling and pedestrian traffic.

The study has been conducted on behalf of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the municipality of Oslo and Akershus County Council, with the Norwegian National Rail Administration, the Norwegian Public Road Administration and Ruter Ltd. acting as project owners.

The study has been split into five phases:

  • Demand analysis
  • Objectives and requirements
  • Concept options
  • Concept analysis
  • Concept study

The concept study was subject to public consultation until April 29 2016. Professional quality assurance by external consultants – KS1 – is in progress.
